What is Literacy Hive?

Literacy Hive is a comprehensive library of literacy resources for primary and secondary teachers categorised so that they can find the support they are looking for quickly and easily.

Literacy Hive was set up by Sian Hardy, a children’s books specialist with over 25 years’ experience that has provided her with a unique overview of the many different resources and services dedicated to supporting the teaching of literacy. Sian realised that, while there was a wealth of support available, finding it could be a time-consuming business. That’s when the idea for Literacy Hive was born.

Saving precious time

Literacy Hive pulls all those different literacy resources together under one virtual roof so that teachers don’t have to spend hours chasing down rabbit holes on the internet. Literacy Hive does not create literacy resources. We are a signposting website that is dedicated to helping teachers navigate their way around what’s already out there.

Putting teachers in control

If you are looking for support in a particular area of literacy, you will be able to see a range of potential options, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your needs and budget. We also hope that Literacy Hive will help you discover resources and ideas that you hadn’t considered before. Alongside the resource listings, our regular Newsletter and Blog will keep you up to date with what’s new in the literacy world and provide insights and ideas for literacy planning.
