All the practitioners listed on the Author Directory live or work in Scotland but may be willing to do author visits across the UK. Contact the author or illustrator directly to check and expect to cover their travel costs.
Cost: Access to the Author Directory is free but authors and illustrators will charge for in-school events.
About Scottish Book Trust: Scottish Book Trust is a national charity that promotes literature, and the benefits of reading and writing for pleasure. Founded in 1998, it delivers world-class programmes and annual awards for children and adults across the length and breadth of Scotland.
Literacy Hive Likes:
- To be listed on the Author Directory, practitioners must meet specific criteria set by the Live Literature team at Scottish Book Trust to ensure that they have the professional expertise required. They must also sign a Live Literature Code of Conduct. They are not, however, required to hold a PVG or DBS check.
- Schools in Scotland can apply for funding towards an event with any of the practitioners listed on the Author Directory through the Live Literature Funding Programme.
