The Inclusive Books for Children website was set up to help teachers, parents and carers find high-quality, inclusive books for primary-aged children.

The website provides access to expert book reviews and curated booklists to enable schools to build an inclusive library collection. The website currently covers:

  • Books for babies and toddlers
  • Picture books (3-7 year-olds)
  • Fiction for 5-7 year-olds
  • Fiction for 6-9 year-olds

Fiction for pupils aged 9-12 will be added later this year.

Cost: Free.

About Inclusive Books for Children: Inclusive Books for Children is a registered charity that aspires for mainstream children’s books to be inclusive, and for inclusive books to be mainstream. The charity was set up by Marcus and Sarah Satha in 2022. As well as running the Inclusive Books for Children website and the Inclusive Books for Children Awards, the charity also supports initiatives that work to increase inclusivity in children’s books more generally.

  • Inclusive Books for Children also runs the Inclusive Books for Children Awards, designed to celebrate the best inclusive books for children aged 1 – 9 published in the UK.
