Kamishibai is a traditional form of Japanese street storytelling that uses picture cards. The text is written on the reverse of the illustrated cards so that the story can be easily read while the audience enjoys the pictures.
The Kamishibai storytelling technique has been successfully adapted to encourage speaking and listening skills, role-play and co-authoring in the classroom.
Mantra Lingua’s Kamishibai Story Prop Cards take images from well-known stories and remove all the the text so that children can re-tell the story in their own words. The cards can be presented in the accompanying Story Board Theatre to create a magical storytelling experience.
Cost: Story Prop Cards £25 + VAT per story. Story Board Theatre £25 + VAT. Buy five sets of Story Prop Cards to receive a free theatre.
