Poetry Together is a free initiative that brings schools and members of the local elderly community together through poetry.

To take part in the Poetry Together challenge:

  • Pupils under 18 write a poem up to 14 lines long on the theme of ‘Happiness’, OR choose a poem with any theme to learn by heart.
  • Schools make contact with members of the elderly community in their local area and invite them to do the same.
  • Arrange a get-together and perform your poems to one another.
  • Send your poems, picture and videos to [email protected] for the chance to receive a range of prizes, including books for the school library worth £250 and the chance to appear on ITV’s This Morning programme.

Download a welcome pack with guidance on how to run the project.

Timetable:

  • Poetry Together Season starts on 5th September and ends on 24th November 2023.

Cost: Free with registration.
