The UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 kicks off on Wednesday 6th July. The FA, working with partners that include the National Literacy Trust, has put together a Schools Programme of cross-curricular resources themed around the tournament. The digital resource pack is aimed at KS2 and KS3 pupils and covers Literacy, PSHE, Maths, PE, Culture and Heritage.
Cost: Free with registration.

- Sign up for the National Literacy Trust’s launch event on 6th July to see some famous faces, take part in a women’s football quiz and hear from football authors Tom Palmer and Venessa Taylor as they talk about the tournament and some winning football reads.
- Follow Tom Palmer’s ‘live’ story featuring characters from his Roy and Rocky of the Rovers books. Created specially for the tournament, a new chapter will be released every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, starting on 6th July and ending on Friday 22nd July.
- Take part in the NLT’s live UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 Reading Challenge on Thursday 14th July at 10.30. Suitable for KS2.
- Get suggested book lists for all ages and tips on how to use pupils’ interest in football to help Kick Off a Reading Habit from the experts at Scottish Book Trust.
- Find football book recommendations for primary-aged pupils from Books for Topics.
- The Premier League Reading Stars is a free 10-week programme developed by the National Literacy Trust and the Premier League to engage reluctant and less able readers in UKS2.
- Skills Academy is a reading intervention for year 7 and 8 pupils linked to acquiring football, beatbox or breakdancing skills.
