The UKLA 57th International Conference is taking place in Birmingham from 1st -3rd July 2022 and the theme for this year is Reaching Out Through Literacy: Enabling Advantage for All.  Delegates will have the opportunity to explore inequalities in literacy education in its widest sense; the challenges that these inequalities cause for learners; and ways of addressing them in order to empower all children through literacy.

Key note speakers include:

  • Gemma Moss – Professor of Literacy and Director of the International Literacy Centre at the UCL Institute of Education, London.
  • Navan Govender – lecturer at the University of Strathclyde.
  • Annette Woods – Professor in the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice at Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane.
  • Natasha Farrant – award-winning author.
