The School Library Association provides training and access to a range of resources to support the running of school libraries across the UK. Services include:
- Training – a range of webcasts and webinars, specialist online courses and an annual Weekend Course.
- Practical and personalised advice – through an advice line or mentoring service.
- The School Librarian – a quarterly journal full of best practice, tips and book reviews for all ages.
- Publications – a range of guides covering topics such as Information Literacy, Reading for Pleasure, Wellbeing and Developing Digital Resources.
- Online Resources – including themed booklists and guidance documents.
Access to the full range of support services is via an annual membership but non-members can access training courses and can subscribe to The School Librarian (free to members).
Cost: Annual membership £95 per year. Training and publication costs will vary.
About the School Library Association: The School Library Association (SLA) is a membership charity that supports all those who work in, or are involved with, school libraries. It was set up in 1937 and is committed to supporting and promoting high quality reading and learning opportunities for all young people in the UK through effective and universal school library provision.
