The Children’s Language, Literacy and Literature Conference will take place on Thursday 16th November at The British Library in London. Organised by the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Pedagogy (UCL IOE), the conference is aimed at education professionals with an interest in early years and primary education.

Through a programme of key note presentations and workshops by internationally-renowned experts, delegates will hear about the latest research and explore ways to promote children’s enjoyment of texts and enhance their learning of language and literacy.

  • Professor Teresa Cremin – Open University, UK
  • Dr Steve Graham – Arizona State University, USA
  • Professor Fiona Maine – University of Exeter, UK
  • Professor Li Wei – IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society
  • Professor Dominic Wyse – IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society
  • Farrah Serroukh – Centre for Literacy in Primary Education, UK

Cost: £50 (Free for affiliate members of the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Pedagogy).

About the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Pedagogy: The Helen Hamlyn Centre for Pedagogy (HHCP) is a research centre founded at UCL’s Institute of Education in 2018.  The work of the centre is focused on children aged from birth to 11 years, particularly those living with disadvantage. It aims to improve understanding and wider implementation of effective pedagogy and to influence educational policies in order to nurture a more equitable society for all.
