Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2023 will take place from 24th – 31st October. The theme for this year is Media and Information Literacy in Digital Spaces: A Collective Global Agenda.

Global Media and Information Literacy Week was set up in 2011 to highlight the importance of helping people around the world become media and information literate citizens by providing them with the skills to:

  • interpret and understand information
  • think critically
  • use and contribute content wisely, both on and offline

UNESCO has published Think Critically, Click Wisely, a second edition of their Media and Information Literacy Curriculum for Educators and Learners which provides a comprehensive framework for information, media and digital competencies.
