The Speaking Summit is an annual oracy conference for primary and secondary leaders. The Speaking Summit 2025 takes place in London on Tuesday 25th March.
The Speaking Summit brings together education experts, policy makers and practitioners to discuss the latest oracy research and policy developments and explore effective practices in oracy education.
Keynote speakers and workshop leaders for the 2025 Summit include:
- Geoff Barton CBE: Chair of the Commission on the Future of Oracy Education in England.
- Barbara Bleiman: Education consultant at the English & Media Centre and author of What Matters in English Teaching.
- Jeffrey Boakye: writer, speaker, broadcaster and educator.
- Mel Carlin: Strategic Lead for School Improvement at Abbey Multi Academy Trust.
- Daisy Christodoulou: Director of Education at No More Marking and former Head of Assessment at Ark Schools.
- Professor Neil Mercer: Emeritus Professor of Education at the University of Cambridge and Director of the Oracy Cambridge.
- RT Honourable Baroness Morris of Yardley: Former Secretary of State for Education.
- Tim Oates, CBE: Group Director of Assessment Research and Development at Cambridge University Press & Assessment and former chair of the National Curriculum Review 2010.
- Dame Alison Peacock: Chief Executive of the Chartered College of Teaching.
- Baz Ramaiah: Head of Policy at The Centre for Education and Youth
- Kanwal Sheikh: Oracy Specialist at Earlham Primary.
Cost: £169 per person for Voice 21 Schools/£209 for non-members.
