The Winter Mini Challenge is a sister programme to the Summer Reading Challenge. It is designed to encourage children aged 4-11 to keep reading over the winter holidays. Details for the Winter Mini Challenge 2023 to be announced.

To complete the Winter Mini Challenge children must read three or more books of their choice in the allotted time frame. Fact books, story books, joke books, picture books, audio books and e-books all count. Children can then log and review their reads on the dedicated website to unlock their Winter Mini Challenge certificate and limited-edition virtual badge.
